This goal will be complete when: I have visited 26 towns, villages, or cities that begin with the letters A-Z. Any locations that have been visited previously must have new activities/sightseeing/experiences in order to qualify for a completed visit. Signs with town/city names will be sought after!
Foamhenge? Giant Ball of Twine? Let me know about some places with hysterical attractions, cool hangouts, or a unique event/festival.
Suggestions (particularly of the East Seaboard variety) are appreciated below - or here!

B - Belmar, New Jersey (July 18) What do you do after you spend an entire Saturday drinking and shooting up zombies playing Left 4 Dead with your friends? Get up early the next morning and head for the Jersey Shore! We aimed to cross Jersey in a fairly straight line and hit the coast as quickly as possible, which had us aiming for Spring Lake… but had us wind up in Belmar instead.
The sand was so hot we literally couldn’t lay on it and spent 90% of our time there in the water, and finished the day with the dinner of champions — giant Baskin Robbins milkshakes. And what did we do when we got back to John’s?… we couldn’t leave that last level of Left 4 Dead play itself! 2 hours later an epic weekend came to a close. Get to the safehouse!!
C – Chatham, NY (1.22.11)
When we traveled to Ghent this winter for the Kozel’s 60th Anniversary/ Kozel’s Restaurant’s 75th Anniversary, we had a little time for some fun…

O – Ocean City, Maryland (7.31.10 – 8.3.10) Some friends rented a house in Maryland for a week at the end of July. Having started my job just a month before & not having any real vacation time yet, I told work I had committed to 2 days off before I took the job. This worked perfectly so Julia & I could drive down for a few days & be back in time for her night class on Tuesday! Friday night I stayed at Julia & Nik’s & Saturday morning the three of us plus Dan caravanned down the coast towards Maryland. Boogie boarding, boardwalking, delicious dining & drinking on the porch with old school never-have-I-ever games made it quite the minibreak!

S – Sea Isle, New Jersey (7.16.11) A true old-fashioned long day at the shore at a beach I’d never been to. Jess and I drove down ahead of the gang for a little extra shore time – Matt’s parents had a shore house, and Lish, Kristen and Dave were all there with us. We swam in the water, laid in the sun, showered at the house and then wandered through the cute center of town, having pizza at the local joint, buying fudge by the boardwalk, walking to play a rousing game of mini golf, and ice cream at Yum Yums. We drove home for 2 a.m. and I slept like the dead. A lovely day!

W – West Dover, VT (2.25.2010-2.28.2010) Headed north with Nik, Davey & Greg for 3 days on the slopes at Mount Snow! We stayed in the Grand Summit Hotel at the base of the Mountain that had everything we could as for – but we did venture off site to check out the Valley View Saloon for a night out! We saw a Moose on the slopes, hit the hot tub while it was snowing and lots more…

Why this is so important?
I am extremely good with directions. Probably annoyingly so. All my friends can tell you this.
What they probably couldn’t have told you is that I’m so good at getting places is because I hate getting lost. Being alone in my car and lost is sort of the worst place for me to be ever.
I love finding new places – mostly because it fills in the gaps of those grey areas in case I *do* get lost.
Here’s to getting a little lost and not breaking a sweat over it…

Schodack, NY? Apple picking?? Hudson, NY? Antiquing! Ghent, NY? Kozel’s Restauarant!?!?

Enola, PA! We could canoe / kayak down the Susquehanna (which starts in Marysville, but ends in Enola). There is also Harrisburg, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, Lemoyne, Gettysburg, and Hershey to explore.

That sounds like a fabulous plan! Canoeing or kayaking would be awesome – or just exploring the area. Hooray for having a tour guide!

Hey you never know, right? If I have free time and funds…anything is possible.
Whether or not THAT happens is another matter entirely, however… lol
I hope things are going well with Americorps!
